//russell there's a little something everywhere here. I felt like floating in the clouds listening to a Chuck Mangione record... this is spiritually there. but these guys bring something unique to the table. there's so much talent in this debut! Favorite track: Continuing the Search.

This EP consists of tracks that were recorded in early October 2020, about 7 months after the final time City of Four had played in the same room together prior to the onset of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. At the start of 2020, the band was playing often and looking forward to continuing a recently-booked Friday night residency at Cambridge music spot, TOAD, through the summer. City of Four had shows scheduled at several Boston-area venues with plans to add more, along with 3 days in the studio booked in July to record a full length album. But, the second week of March came, and the rest is history.

"Not Lost", is a play on the expression, "not all those who wander are lost", which to the band encapsulates the feeling of trying to make sense of pandemic-era life as a live performer. After a handful of Zoom meetings and phone calls early in the pandemic, members of City of Four decided that keeping the music alive in some way was important. "Not Lost" is the band's attempt to make the most out of a challenging stretch of time that consisted of no live shows or opportunities to be in the same room with an audience.

This project started as a DIY session to stay in touch with friends and supporters on social media, but turned into something deeper. For City of Four, "Not Lost" celebrates friendship, mutual respect, and perseverance.

The first 15 supporters of this EP will be sent live bootleg tracks from City of Four's final performances before the onset of the pandemic, at TOAD (Cambridge, MA) on Feb 28, 2020 and Chianti (Beverly, MA) on Mar 7, 2020.
